Located on the waterfront adjacent to Constitution Dock in central Hobart, Hotel Grand Chancellor provides the very best in location.

Access To Tasmania

Getting to Tasmania has never been easier.

By Air  - Three carriers can get you to Hobart; Qantas, Jet Star and Virgin Blue.  Frequently scheduled flights operate from most capitals cities to Hobart and flights take approximately one hour and from Melbourne to Hobart.

Access from the airport to Hobart city is only 15 minutes.

By Sea – The Spirit of Tasmania operates from Melbourne to Devonport and this is often a popular option for delegates seeking to explore more or Tasmania before or after and event.


Things To Do & See

Hobart is the gateway to Tasmania and there are many attractions and activities easily located in and around Hobart.  Mountain bike down Mt Wellington or just enjoy the stunning view or perhaps take a bush walk, we recommend down not up. The River Derwent can be explored in a variety of ways from sea kayaking for the adventurous or a leisurely river cruise over afternoon tea of dinner or for the thrill seekers take a jet boat tour or even step back in time onboard a majestic tall ship. 

Cuisine tourism is rich and abundant in the area.  You can dine at an oyster lease for entrée, wash down your main course with wines from at least fifteen local vineyards and take dessert at a raspberry farm or at the home of Cadbury.  Maybe a dram of whiskey from the Lark Distillery to finish or a cleansing ale from Australia oldest brewery Cascade.

Play golf at Australia’s oldest golf course or walk in the tree tops at Tahune Air Walk.  Raft the Picton River or drive to Peppermint Bay and Bruny Island.  Take in the cities many art galleries or the Salamanca markets or have a drink in one of Australia’s oldest pubs.  All this and there’s still the copious convict history to explore.
