Hotel Grand Chancellor has become the latest organisation to show its support of young New Zealanders, by signing on as a sponsor of the Foundation for Youth Development (FYD).

FYD co-founder, Graeme Dingle, said the hotel chain had agreed to place coin collection boxes at front desks and promotional materials in rooms and information kiosks.

“We’re thrilled that Hotel Grand Chancellor has chosen to form a partnership with us,” Graeme said.

“Their support will help fund the ongoing development and implementation of the Foundation for Youth Development’s programmes - Kiwi Can, Stars, Project K and youth offender programmes.”

This week, Graeme Dingle and FYD ambassador, former All Black Frank Bunce, took a tour of the Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland City property and Frank was vocal about his support for the charity.

“These days young people have a raft of influences coming at them from all directions. FYD’s programmes help youth develop confidence and make the right decisions – they play a vital role in helping our young people become leaders of tomorrow.

“I am a long-term supporter of FYD’s work and it’s great that HGC have come onboard as well,” he said.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Group Marketing Manager, Hazel Rigler, said a key driver behind forming a partnership with the Foundation for Youth Development was the positive impact that the organisation has had on the lives of so many young New Zealanders.

"We strongly believe in giving back to the community and hope that by supporting the Foundation we will be making a positive contribution to youth and society in general.”

Hotel Grand Chancellor has hotels located in Auckland City, Auckland Airport, Wellington and Christchurch. It joins 37 other New Zealand companies that currently support activities of the Foundation for Youth Development.
