In July the new “We have gone green, please help the environment” door hangers were introduced to the Hotel Grand Chancellor Christchurch. We received positive guest feedback with 122 guests choosing not to have their room serviced and doing their bit to help the environment; saving 2440 litres of water!
The “Green Team” in conjunction with Christchurch City Council and Park Ranger Nigel Morritt, completed their second volunteer work day which involved the planting of over 80 Ngaio trees in Sugar Loaf Reserve. The planting of these trees were to fill areas where old mans beard had been removed in prior projects. Four members of the Hotel Grand Chancellor Christchurch Green Team spent 4 hours completing this task on Christchurch’s coldest winter day in sub zero degree temperatures.
