Two new conference rooms have been added to the line-up of conference facilities at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, easing the demand for mid-sized meeting rooms.
Chancellor 6, off Whitby’s Restaurant, accommodates 80 people banquet-style, 100 for cocktails, 80 theatre-style and 42 classroom-style. The conference room is sound-proofed with a fitted roll-down screen and has wireless and broadband access. Chancellor 6 also has the benefit of access to the restaurant so that attendees can dine at Whitby’s buffet during lunch or dinner breaks.
Executive Boardroom 1, the other new conference venue, overlooks The Terrace and the lobby entrance, and takes 15 people boardroom and classroom-style and 24 theatre-style. An ideal cocktail party venue, it can accommodate 40 people.
Hotel general manager, John Primmer, said the hotel was nearing the end of a multi- million dollar refurbishment.
“These additional conference facilities, coupled with the new Whitby’s Restaurant and Bar on the hotel’s 17th floor will provide conference organisers with options for small gatherings or additional breakout rooms for larger conferences.
“In the last year we have noticed a venue demand for one and two day meetings for 15 to 40 people,” said John Primmer.
As Wellingtons favourite meeting venue the hotel now boasts 8 flexible rooms all with the latest IT requirements, ample parking and experienced staff to assist.9841600
