Given the serious damage caused to Christchurch on 22nd February 2011 in the 6.3 magnitude earthquake, Hotel Grand Chancellor Christchurch has been closed until further notice.

The Hotel has suffered extensive damage and we are therefore taking no new bookings and we are cancelling all future bookings until the situation is clearer.

The Hotel Grand Chancellor Christchurch has been stabilized so that emergency services can work in the immediate area. The Hotel remains in the ‘no access’ zone of the ‘red zone’.

We still do not yet know if we will ever gain access to the Hotel to retrieve any guest belongings.

The Hotel Grand Chancellor Christchurch executive team has set up an office in Sydenham, Christchurch. The office is open for normal business hours.
